Climate-Related Industry Association Engagement and Advocacy

In alignment with Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero transition pathway and the goals of the Paris Agreement, CMMT commits to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The company also ensures that all industry activities it participates in and industry associations it joins are consistent with international climate objectives and with the company’s mission to advance sustainability and environmental responsibility. CMMT manages and oversees participation in climate-related public affairs and industry association activities across all operating locations through a robust governance mechanism. The company ensures that such participation aligns with its sustainability roadmap, climate targets, and the spirit of the Paris Agreement, maintaining consistency and responsible external engagement.
The ESG Office is responsible for reviewing and managing lobbying-related and industry association participation activities. It regularly evaluates whether these activities align with the company’s established sustainability policies and climate targets, and reports the evaluation results to the Sustainability Development Committee.
If an industry association’s stance or actions are found to be inconsistent with the company’s climate policies and sustainability goals, CMMT will proactively communicate with the relevant association to facilitate alignment and adjustment of positions. If alignment cannot be achieved within a reasonable timeframe, the company will carefully assess whether to adjust or terminate its participation in the association, in order to ensure the fulfillment of the company’s climate commitments and sustainability principles. CMMT did not conduct any direct lobbying in 2024. All climate-related trade associations in which CMMT participates are aligned with the company’s climate objectives; no misalignments were identified in 2024.
